Restaurante Terrace Grill & Bodega Stratvs Shop

The new 18 million Euro Bodega Stratvs which opened
in May 2008 is the latest
addition to the many Bodegas (winemakers) we have on Lanzarote. Despite
its relatively new status the wines being produced at Bodega
Stratvs are already winning awards and achieving recognition
in the wine world. “Best new bodega” and
the silver medal in the International Wine Competition Bacchus
2008.
Well worth a visit whilst on Lanzarote to see this new wine making
method using Hi Tec production systems and the most innovative techniques.
The surrounding land is dedicated to the growing of the vines and
within the tour you can learn about the unique cultivation methods
employed for the raising of quality vines in this difficult terrain.
Please stop at the Stratvs Bodega to taste the wine and the
La Finca Cheeses or to have some lunch in their newly opened Terraza restaurant but
more importantly to see the beautifully constructed building which
looks like a Cathedral in its breathtaking setting.

Restaurante Costa Azul

Owned and run by Jose Luis Santana Camacho who is better
known locally as “Tato” a nickname which has stuck with
him since he was a boy! Tato has traveled to London, Portugal and
Switzerland before his love for the island brought him back home
to run this famous family owned fish restaurant in El Golfo. Not
for nothing do the local residents and business persons drive out
to Costa Azul to dine. The wonderful food and perfectly glorious
sunsets make this a divine setting for the locals and our visitors
alike. Fish is caught fresh daily and served in the traditional manner.
The restaurant can be found on the left hand side round the first
bend going into El Golfo. (June July, August Sept

Restaurante Casa Torano

Also run and owned by “Tato” but originally the restaurant
belonged to his Uncle Torano. Casa Torano is also a traditional
fish restaurant. Found further into the village on the right hand

guests. They started a small enterprise in 1992 in the highly unconventional

restaurant has only fourteen tables to fight over so reservations

Haria.
With an amazing panoramic view over one of the region’s most stunning natural
attractions – the Valley of a Thousand Palms - La Frontera offers good
value and simple but tasty fish and meats cooked on a wood-fired grill and a
good range of wines. A bonus for children - and therefore their grateful parents
- is that owner Frederick has created a self-contained play area off the main
dining room which contains enough play equipment to distract most younger diners
for the best part of a meal. The murals depicting frontier American, meanwhile,
are diverting enough for the kids without screaming ‘theme restaurant’ or
detracting from the food.
Our starter of melt in the mouth strips of honey-drizzled aubergine was a sweet
but light way into the succulent main course of grills – veal chop
for me, meat kebab for my partner. It’s also worth mentioning that the
hallmark of any decent restaurant is a good house wine and the Frontera doesn’t
disappoint on that score. Our house red had a wonderfully oaky flavour and complemented
our grilled dishes perfectly. We would have been tempted by a pudding but, unable
to resist the earlier bread and mojo sauces (traditional Canarian aromatic sauces
that go especially well with meat and fish) we resolved to try those next time".
