Lanzarote
Lanzarote is one of the seven Canary Islands belonging to Spain and an ideal place to holiday or live. This unique island which is only 37 miles long and 12 miles wide is quite simply stunning. Being just 80 miles off the coast of África the climate offers year round summer like conditions. With average temperatures of 22 degrees and very little rainfall the outdoor life may be enjoyed to the fullest.
The last eruption of the volcano was in 1730-1736 and again in 1812-1824 but don’t worry as although the last eruption went on for six years and destroyed considerable amounts of the island no one was or ever has been actually injured by an eruption on Lanzarote.
Lanzarote is a Biosphere
The island of Lanzarote came to be part of a network of protected areas of high ecological value in the world in 1971. The network currently has just 300 biospheres worldwide .Not only is the actual island protected but so is the surrounding coastline so that fishing is restricted to only a few areas which make this a divers paradise. There are plenty of holiday activities which we have listed in detail within this website, the island has vast culinary and visual delights on offer and if you really love it and would like to live in a place where the sun nearly always shines and the winters are very mild what better place.
